The 30th Wine Coountry Film Festival is proud to present The Violin Teacher (Brazil) and Simply Strings Honor Ensemble Performance The movie tells the story of Laerte, a talented violinist who after failing to be admitted into the Osesp orchestra is forced to give music class to teenagers in a public school in Heliopolis. His path is full of difficulties, but the transforming power of music and the friendship arising between the professor and his students opens the doors into a new world.  The film screens at 7:30pm. Student musicians from the Santa Rosa Symphony's Simply Strings Honor Ensemble conducted by Timothy Zieminski, perform before the film at 6:30pm.  Following the film there will be a discussion about the transforming power of music with the Santa Rosa Symphony Director of Education and Simply Strings Coordinator.  Proceeds will help support the Simply Strings program.
