In the carding class students will learn different methods for creating variations of color and effects. Students will learn the difference when you card various colors once versus multiple times. They will learn to card their dyed roving for a gradient effect by adding white or black to the original color, how to card in layers (sandwiched) versus stripes, and how to diz from carders. The class will explore blending other elements (silk, glitz balls, ect.) into colored batts and how to prepare these for spinning, as in Z or lengthwise stripping, roll, stack or pull. We will also learn specific techniques unique for the blending board.
