With each movement written as a caricature of one of his friends, Elgar’s Enigma Variations delights with variety and depth. Inspired by exotic Turkish folk music, Mozart’s playful violin concerto, in the expert hands of violinist Julian Rhee, alternates the gracious elegance of a minuet with a boisterous Bacchanalian frenzy. Feel the intense colors of various grains waving on the plains in Libby Larson’s Deep Summer Music and enjoy still more contrast in First Symphony Project composer Gabriella Smith’s Rust.\
