We are recruiting a small group of naturalist youth interested in joining SEC environmental educators to take deep dives into many habitats of Sonoma Valley, animal tracking, hiking, nature journaling, playing games, and more through 5-part series that repeats each Monday at a new local site in Sonoma Valley including Montini Overlook Trail; Maxwell Creek, Nathanson Preserve, and the productive farm and habitats of Sonoma Garden Park are some of the sites we will explore as we hone our naturalist skills and tools. The Sonoma Naturalist Club is open to ages 9-13 on meeting on Mondays, from July 6-August 3, 8:30 am-1:30 pm. This day camp adheres to the state and county COVID 19 guidelines and protocols for the care of youth groups. Naturalists will need masks, clothing, and shoes appropriate for action, a hat, backpack with snack and lunch, water bottle, journal, and a pencil. Optional: a small foam cushion-like those used in the garden, binoculars, bug box, colored pencils, or pens. Leading the SoNat groups are Jonny Ehlers, last summer's Creek Camp guide; Julia Megna, last summer's Hogwarts Sonoma's Head Mistress; Tony Passantino, SEC's Education Program Manager We look forward to carrying on our summer traditions in nature with you this July and August and also, the return of our camps next year!
